Re: fossilman in 2nd place in p* sunday million

Of the WSOP main even champions since 2002, I'd rank Raymer and Hachem as the best poker players. Raymer has won over $800K in live tourneys since his WSOP victory, and Hachem won over $2mil when he won the Doyle Brunson 7 months ago. Moneymaker doesn't really belong with those guys poker-wise in all the P*s adverts, but since he started it all I can see why he is there.

Who's better between Raymer and Hachem? I don't know.

Re: fossilman in 2nd place in p* sunday million

I believe he was in 2nd or 3rd place with about 800,000 chips. He called an all-in PF raise with 9 9. Villain had A K suited. River brought the king to knock him out.

Just curious on folks thoughts on this hand. We don't know the history but this seems like a stupid call. Seeing as he was knocked out, he could only be playing against the 1st or 2nd place chipstacks. Are you hoping the player is pushing with 88 or worst. Any other hand is at best coinflip and its a coinflip against the only player(s) that can knock you out.

Maybe he was getting tired/bored and wanted to coinfliip for the chip lead?

Found a 2+2 link with more details though fossilman is definitely not in the top 3 (he's at best 4th based on just this table).

Without knowing his position and reading the above comments, I have a kinder viewpoint on his play.

I guess money can make you do things like that, I wouldn't know.

Personally, I'd be happy to take his $4K+ for finishing 42nd...
