Not being accusatory here just curious.
<end thread jack> | If he has made the money pay his what he is due... I think this is taking this to the extreme. We are talking about online not in a live home game tourney setting. |

I put on a poker game to play poker and the least you can do is sit at the table and fold your cards. I don't do all this so that you can get a big stack and go drink at the bar -- so I think I'd have to say something IF it ever does happen.
I played a bit of basketball back in my day and I always hated teams that ran the "stall" game -- you don't go onto the court to do nothing but pass it back & forth all day (sorry, don't consider that basketball). Thank goodness for 30 second clocks! To me, this sitting out feels the same as the "stall" -- legal yes, but it's not in the spirit of good play.
BTW, I'm going to feel stupid -- but I've never known what SnG stood for? |

BTW, I'm going to feel stupid -- but I've never known what SnG stood for? | hrm. in a friendly home game, okay. but in a competitive environment, the name of the game is to win, yes? do you think it's wrong for in the ncaa to stall with a 10 point lead and 90 seconds left? or in the NFL for a team to kneel and run out the clock? the spirit of the game to win within the rules. the governing bodies can then make rules if loopholes are particularly egregious. the ncaa put in a shot clock to keep stalling to the minimum, and so now stalling is harder to do. but sitting out is legal in poker, and so it's okay right?
PLUS, and let's not forget, it's not EV+ for the player sitting out. unlike in basketball, where stalling can win you the game, sitting out of a tournament can NEVER win for you...unless you consider sneaking into the money a win. |

<end thread jack> | If it was a friendly home game and somone had to leave for an emergency, but would be back shortly, sure I'd just blind them as usual. If it were online...all bets off, be at the table if you want to take top 2. If it were a casino, I'd try and make the action go as quick as possible...take as many free blinds as possible...if there was some way to silently collude, I would. I'm trying to advance my finish, no two ways about it.
