Chips: 73 | | | Was I a jerk? Playing a $5.00 +.50 SNG last night on P*.
It's down to four players (3 make money), Blinds at 100/200 I'm in the BB with 7,8os(have about 2,800 in chips). One caller(has about 1,700), SB folds. I check to see a flop.
Flop comes Q,8,3 I make middle pair in early postion and check it. Other player bets 200, I call.
Turn 7...I make two pair...decide to bet at it, make it 600 to go. Other guy goes all in for another 1,100..I think for a second and call. He shows Q,8 for a higher two pair...I think, oh damn I'm going to be short stack on the bubble. Quickly a 7 peals off on the river to give me a fullhouse. I instantly type , "wow"
"two outs". I really was surprised, I didn't think the guy was that strong and I amazed I knocked him out to get into the money.
I sit for a few minutes then suddenly the guy starts swearing at me like a madman.
I told him I got lucky, it happens sometimes, it's poker.
Was what i typed out of line? That's exactly what I typed, nothing more nothing less, no other comments, I don't talk a lot (unless it's a CT tourney). I guess this is what I should expect from a $5 tourney.
( went on to take second, had a massive cheap lead heads up 10,500 to 3000 when I had 6,6 on a board of 3,5,5 guy bet at it I went all -in he had 10,3 and caught a ten on the river...then I got cold decked.)

Chips: 165 | | | Re: Was I a jerk? no, he's an idiot and forgets about all the times he's caught lucky cards to win a pot. don't sweat it. what you said was no way out of line.
had similar thing happen to me the other night. $10 6 player. down to 3. guy in 3rd only bets big on bluffs (did it and showed 3 times) i have 55, board is rags, he bets 1/2 his stack on the flop which is about 1/5 my stack so i call, rag turn, he moves in. i call. he has no hand no draw and 1 over card to my 5's. he misses. then proceeds to rip me every way he can. was very annoying, but me being a jerk just kept prodding him until he finally just gave up and left. i took 1st and smiled the whole time. if i hit a lucky one i usually say oops. sorry.... nothing you can do about but collect the chips and play the next hand. |

I'm always amazed when people start "yelling" online.
I assume most of us have played enough that we've all made good plays and bad plays. All have sucked out or been sucked out on. IT HAPPENS.
Also, I think it was a 4 outter (two 7's, two 8's).
Regardless, well done. |

An 8 would have made the other guy a higher full house.

Chips: 123 | | | Re: Was I a jerk? I dont see anything wrong with it either... My experiences with the $5 + $0.50 SnG's are exaclty the same. Tons of donkement play and then massive flaming and name calling for what the other players feel as bad play. Poker is sometimes about luck and the cards that fall nothing more. So if you made a play at a pot and misread your opponent to then hit make your hand and they cant handle it they may need to go find another game. Go Fish maybe. |

If you came to my home game and said that crap, I'd punch you in the face. You call a min bet with middle pair. Go back to the play money tables superdonk. You know how much money I make online? More than you'll see in a lifetime. Yeah, I know this is a $5 SNG. I'm playing like 66 at once. 99% evil, yeah right. Try 110% a$$clown. |
