Re: Amazing value for FPP on 'stars

I have still been playing these every once in a while, they are indeed good value.
If you play these, you know that every tourney features at least two people allin on the first hand.
I actually felt like folding this, and note what I typed BEFORE any flop cards came down:

PokerStars Game #11129451262: Tournament #56452642, 70FPP Hold'em No Limit - Level I (10/20) - 2007/07/25 - 15:01:33 (ET)

UHave_3_Outs collected 6040 from pot
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 6040 | Rake 0

Seat 3: njsitton (big blind) folded before Flop
Seat 4: rsnyd folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 5: jovica19 showed [Ts Jc] and lost with high card King
Seat 6: WalhallaBob folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 7: Nack95 folded before Flop
Seat 8: UHave_3_Outs showed [Ac Qc] and won (6040) with a flush, Ace high
Seat 9: ravenmanaic folded before Flop (didn't bet)

I wasn't even upset about this, all I could do was laugh.
Anyone think I should have folded?

No way, either go out or stack up and have a great shot at winning it.

Re: Amazing value for FPP on 'stars

I played one this morning before I left for work (I know I have issues) I got pocket A's first hand too and had the exact same reaction. I raised 5x BB pre-flop and got 4 callers. The difference was that we didn't get to all in until after the flop hit with all baby cards 2-5-8. I bet the pot and got re-raised to all in by one other player - everyone else folded. Of course I call - they had 2-2 . No help on the turn or river. In the future i may muck the A-A opening hand as this is the 2nd time I have got 'em and been out first - online poker free rolls are rigged

Like you I could only laugh

Re: Amazing value for FPP on 'stars

I earn enough FPPs in 3 sessions (2 hrs/day over 3 days) playing 4-6 tables of $1-2 NL to play in one 1,500 FPP 1-table SAT. If I win one of these, I have $215 or so in tourney dollars. Then I play in 1-table SNG's to actaully convert them into cash. This really adds to my monthly earn rate! Very good value in my opinion.

These sound like a good deal. But you know, I'm saving up for the Aston Martin.

Re: Amazing value for FPP on 'stars

I looked for these FFP tourneys and didn't find them. I'm not very good at finding specific types of tourneys though.....my wife will tell you I can't see worth S*** even though I have 20/20 vision.

Anyway, would someone kindly explain which tabs to click to find these on P*? do they only run at certain times?

Re: Amazing value for FPP on 'stars

Sit n Go ---> Satellite ----> FPP

It should be the bottom tournament (or top if you have the buyin ranking the other way)
There do seem to be times they don't run, I don't fully understand it. They are certainly running now. If you uncheck 'show upcoming/registering only' you should see a whole bunch of them running.

Re: Amazing value for FPP on 'stars

They definitely do not run in the "Wee hours" of the night. After getting my A$$ kicked in at a cash game late last night/early this morning i tired to jump into one and could not find them
