The state of Linux and poker (please post experiences)
If anyone is thinking about using Linux and is intimidated by not being able to play poker I'd like to report that pokerstars is 99% under WINE. Ubuntu is an insanely easy to live with linux distribution with all sorts of bells-n-whistles.
Basically:
1) Get Ubuntu installed, make networking do it's thing.
2) Install WINE via Synaptics package manager (nice and point-clicky)
3) Run the pokerstars installer EXE
3a) (edit) Hack your config file a little so you can use F5 to complete the resize.
4) PWN UR OPPONENTZ!!!!1!
The only thing I can find that doesn't work is that tournament tables won't resize. Cash games resize fine. I haven't played a tournament in a few updates so that MIGHT be fixed but I'm not holding my breath.
Anyone running pokertracker/pokerace under Linux? I haven't been using it lately because I hardly ever play online now. How about that new poker evolution?

Affirmative. Last I checked, PT worked just fine under WINE but complained about not having a database. I assumed that I could set up Postgres and point it to that but never got around to it.
Also last I checked, PokerAce could not and would not run under WINE, due to the licensing scheme. Pity.
