I watch my position alot also..... Notice that you move up quickly with one good hand. I think it is important to know how you stand overall. But i will say that it affects my strategy sometimes.
As long as I am in the middle of the pack and not near the bottom or the bubble I pay more attention to my table and it's dynamics...if I am near the bubble or the bottom I definatly get more aggressive...you need chips to win and you have to beat more than just your table.
I try not to watch my position. I scroll to the bottom of the list of players so I can see how many are busting out and how many left. I don't want to see my name until we get down to a couple of tables left. Just play my cards and focus on my table, and try not to jinx anything!
In the early stagesI play the table. In the middle and late in the tourney I like to see where I am at to gauge how agrressive or tight I can/will play. A lot depends on what buy in MTT I am playing too. At the lower buy in MTT's you have A LOT more donkament style play and it is really hard to bet people out of hands cuz they really don't know any better. In those games I tend to play a touch tighter because of it and watch my poistion a little more
