Chips: 10,769 | | | SnG's: Turbo or not? Say you want to play mostly Sit and Go's.
Do you:
-play mostly $10+1 (rake=10% of entry) regular SnG's, thinking that you will get more hands to play, minimizing luck and maximizing skill as a factor.
-play mostly $6+.50 (rake=8.3% of entry) turbo's thinking that you'll play more of them, and the 17% lower rake will be to your advantage.
- play some of both, figuring it will round out your game.

but the extra 30 minutes or so makes a huge different in the amount of play you have. so when i have the time or feel like playing as opposed to pushbotting, i play the regulars. |

As you get down to 4-5 handed, it definitely becomes a push-fold game because of ICM, and the really successful SNG players fully understand and utilize ICM very well. You generally do not see this at the $10 to $50 levels so you can get some good "poker" out of them.
I mostly play live SNGs. I play turbos online for the timing, but you can, as others say, get more play in the regular games. |

When you have time stick with the $10 SNG's. That's what I do but I mostly play the $5 SNG's along with the $6+ turbos. Irish |

this is the nature of the game. the only poker that everyone agrees is "real" is an extremely deepstacked game, preferably mixed.
anything else, according to someone, is not real poker. |

If you focus on the turbos is will force you to get better at ICM and bubble strategy which will translate in regular SNG games. It will also lead to greater variance. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
