Re: Whats your Online Poker Setup??

When I play cash games I use PT and a HUD. In tournies/sng's no HUD.

Yea Littlebu, I think thats what I am leaning towards what Im gonna do. Doesn't seem to have that much value in tournaments.

Re: Whats your Online Poker Setup??

I've only used PT + PaHUD for a short time but I greatly value them. My database is small (900 people) since I've only played cash games for a bit more than a month. It still makes it easy for me to see if the opponents are loose/tight and passive/aggressive. I also make PaHud show their BB/100, but I'm not really sure how helpful that is since for most opponents I have <50 hands. I have been thinking about data mining since having stats of a lot of opponents would be very helpful (although perhaps immoral?).

I also use PaHud for table selection - I open a bunch of tables and wait until PaHud shows me several loose opponents before I join.

No way. It's a tool like any other, datamine away.

Re: Whats your Online Poker Setup??

If the site allows you to data mine away. Just like at the table the same info is available for others, so I have no problem with it.

Re: Whats your Online Poker Setup??

Yea I am planning on Datamining as well. The problem is that PS is avently opposed to it. I have been thinking about trying out another site anyways. Full Tilt seems to be my next choice. Any oppinions on Full Tilt and how it works with Poker Tracker and PokerAce HUD?

FT works fine with PT & PA.

The nice thing about FT with these tools is that you can see what a table is like without actually having to play it because PA will post the player and table stats even though you are not sitting at the table; much more useful than just the average pot size players to a flop stats.

So basically its easy to datamine here? You can record hands by observing and then join the table after recording 100 hands or so? Thats what I am wanting to do if thats the case.

To get 100 hands you'd have to wait an hour an then there probably won't be many left of the original players. I think many people who data mine create a huge database, so that when you go to a table you already know how they play. At least that's what I'm trying to do

And thanks to the people who said its ok to mine. I had some doubts about it but now I got started. Even though I only mined for a few hours before I played a brief session it already paid off. I only had info of 0.3% of the players who were playing at my limits but it still helped me find a table where at least one of the players is a fish. I'm very interested to see what the results will be after a week of mining.
