Play money SnG's are the only thing worth playing, as mentioned.
I've been playing Stars $3.25 45 man sitn'gos and the caliber of play is about the same as high level playmoney games.
"Cash game" play money games are less than worthless once you get the hang of the basics (reading the board, betting, etc.) I actually think they make you worse the longer you play them.

My new strategy for these are as follows:

Get all your chips in with the worst hand, catch some cards and take down the pot. Stay tuned for results...

I've playing in some play money single table S&Gs that have been contest like it was a decent amount of real money on the line.

I tried play money a few times and to me, it does not resemble play at any level with real money, even the micro limits.

Also I can not understand why anyone would play at play money when you can play freerolls for no charge and have a chance to win real money.

Freerolls are the same thing as play money SNGs. The donks have nothing to lose and everything to gain, so why not play ATC? Okay, the play may be a little better, but still...

They're tournaments with no entry fee but real money payouts. I play in a few $250 freerolls (entry fee is 10 frequent player points) and the biggest 1st place payout I've seen is $34 which, if I'm not mistaken, is based on the number of entries. I haven't played at Party Poker in a long time, but I know they used to have $500 freerolls with 10000 max entries, paying only the final table (minimum $40).

Some of the freerolls require you to have player points in order to claim your winnings. For example, some many points per dollar.
