I just was kicked out of a HORSE tournament in the Limit Hold'em stage. The one who finally finished my tournament was one of the players I fear at most:a calling station!
I was rather short stacked and found JJ so I raised and two players called me.
Flop shows 877 rainbow,I bet calling station raises ,second player folds and I reraise him, because I did not believe that he had a 7 in his hands.I put him either on sth like A8 or K8 or just some overcards,so I just wanted to protect my hand but of course it was meaningless ,my opponent seemed to call everything.Turn shows a Q and the betting continued .Although I now figured out that was likely holding a Q I was committed and had to call so I was all-in after the turn.He finally showed AQ and my tournament was finished.
SO what do you think about this situation.OK these are not the most incomprehensible calls I've ever seen but were there really correct.Even if these were correct calls this example is more supposed to serve as an opener for discussions about calling stations.
I would be pleased if you tell more stories about them,so that I know that i'm not the only one who has some problems with these guys.
