Lower Limits = Greater Profit?

So this may be fruitless, but I decided to conduct an experiment.

I typically play .1/.25 6max @ P*

I am currently winning 2 BB/100 - quite bad - but only over the last 4000 hands (my PT DB crashed) prior to that I was around 5.5 BB/100

So I decided I would try playing lower limits, play much much more aggressively, positionally, and both in combination.

I moved to .05/.1 6max - I am at 14 BB/100 over 1200 hands
I am at 99 BB/100 at .02/.05 6max over 3000 hands

First, I know the hand volume is statistically stupid. I need more hands. But, is this all a heater, am I playing better, or are these limits just so much softer?

Probably a combination, but I was wondering if any of you have done similar experiments to similar results.

Re: Lower Limits = Greater Profit?

I've played the .10, .25, and now .30 deep stack 6max at FT. Play is somewhat different each level, but all suck terribly. Right now I'm at 9.22PTBB/100 in ~6K hands at .30, and I played the last 1K like a donkfish. You're probably in a slump cards wise, which leads to slumping play.

Like you said, your numbers are useless with so few hands. It could be anything.

Re: Lower Limits = Greater Profit?

I've also noticed that the play at .02/0.4 is so much softer that I probably make more than at .05/.1.

I also have too few hands - I think I have about 3k at NL5 and 2k at NL10. With these limited hands I'm running break-even at NL10 (was slightly winning yesterday but got stacked twice today so now PT puts me in the red). Its funny how in a short sample just one bad beat can make you a losing player and one good session makes up for it

But at NL5 I've been getting about 40BB/100.

I think one important reason besides the softer play is that at least on Party the min-buying at the two levels is the same - $2. So when someone buys short at NL5 they still have 50BB's while short stacks at NL10 only have 20. Now if they donk it at NL10 then they only loose less than half in BB's. Also at the Party NL5 games people don't know about pot odds, often I can chase a gutshot since the villain makes minbets and calls a pot sized bet if I hit my draw. On NL10 this happens more seldom.
