As your chairman, it brings me great pride to report that your Member of Congress has agreed to co-sponsor HR 2046. Your grassroots efforts are making an enormous difference!
HR 2046 was introduced on April 26, 2007 by House Financial Services Committee Chairman Rep. Barney Frank. If HR 2046 becomes law, online poker will be safe, secure and regulated. The bill would create stringent licensing to ensure that poker players and consumers are protected.
Thanks to the great work of grassroots poker activists like you, your Member of Congress is now a co-sponsor of HR 2046. Now, we really need to show your Representative that we appreciate this important gesture of support.

Dear Representative Capuano,

Thank you for being a co-sponsor of HR 2046. I am pleased to see this demonstration of your commitment to protect my rights as a member of the Poker Players Alliance.

As you know, HR 2046 will make online poker safe, secure and regulated. I felt betrayed when Congress voted last year to limit my ability to play online poker.
Poker is a game of skill that I enjoy with my friends and family. Whether you play on the Internet or on the kitchen table it remains a great American tradition that should not be taken away. I am glad to see that you understand this fundamental truth.
Thank you again for cosponsoring HR 2046. I appreciate your support for this bill, and for any other bills that may emerge to reverse the injustice that poker players suffered in 2006.
I will closely watch action on this bill, and I look forward to your response and hearing your thoughts on this issue.

I play poker as stress relief and to enjoy the competition. I am a tax paying, adult who believes that I have the right to make decisions as to how and where I spend my time and money. Being able to play poker should be legal, and if the government chooses to get involved I would expect it to be in the form of regulation to protect American citizens instead of taking away a personal freedom. If online poker was legal and regulated in the United States then the companies involved would be able to work in the states bringing jobs and tax dollars that are currently being lost overseas. Lets bring poker home where it belongs, to the USA.
