It's okay to tell people, and let it out. People might hate hearing bad beat stories, but you need a way to vent your frustrations, and that way is not to play bad poker. Even if you just write it down somewhere, throw it in a private blog, get it all out, and then step back and look at it. Think about things you could have done to avoid those situations, and evaluate if you really made the right decisions, once the hand is in the back of your mind a little bit. Then try and learn from the hand. The best hand is going to lose a lot, and sometimes you can't avoid it.
Try switching games, stepping down in stakes, or maybe even taking a little bit of a break. I like sweating people online when I'm on little breaks, reading a little bit, or, buy some chips to make yourself feel better
Good luck, and I hope you pull through it all right. |

Seriously, get over it. Variance is a *****. I mean, I didn't even read past the first 4 or 5 hands after it became obvious your complaining about pretty standard beats. OMG I got beat by KK over QQ! OMG my K high flush got beat by the A high flush! OMG, someone played a trash one-gapper in a THREE HANDED game!! I mean, what was that guy thinking!!!!
You want advice?? Here it is: Walk away. calm down, come back in a week or two. Remember the donks are how you make your money. |

BTW, no, it's not variance. You're too willing to play big pots with one pair. |

Losing that amount in a .25/.50 game is too much. I've done the same thing but have recently adhered to the same principles as A-Ro's post. It's a grind but it works. |

Chips: 86 | | | Re: Ok Its Not Varience Anymore thank you guys for all the hellp and suggestions.i have now calmed down and am going to take a break for a couple of weeks.i have been thinking about the hands i have played in the last couple days and realize that i am overplaying them.the QQ vs. KK hand i didnt include that i almost folded.i know almost doesnt count but the timer was down to about 4 seconds when i called.i was titling so bad that i called for no reason.i could beat nothing.
someone asked how many hands i played for this to happen.i have about 3000-3500 hands on my PT.so its in that range.
anyway i am going to stay away from poker for a couple of weeks and clear my head and go back with a better attitude, no tilting, and play marginal hands more carefully.
again thank you for the advice and i hope that maybe i can give you guys some support when your in need.thank you |

Going down in stakes, however, could make you MORE insane as you'll be dropping to 0.10/0.25 NL and most of the people at those tables will call with all kinds of crazy crap and bust your big hands.

Chips: 86 | | | Re: Ok Its Not Varience Anymore i would like to add 1 thing and get some advice on a hand that is in the OP im not sure which number it is.
first i have read some people saying that i am just a bad player.i have been playing poker for 5 years and online poker for 4 of those 5.even after i have taken this $600 loss i am still up a total of $1800-$2000 as a recreational player.i play maybe 3 times per week at absolute most and thats it.i would say that im a average player maybe litle above average.but by no stretch of the imagination am a good or great player.i have just hit a rough stretch that i havent experienced yet and has me rattled.i have had many bad streaks in my 5 years of playing but nothing like this before and it had me rattled and then it turned into FBT(full blown tilt).
now for the advice on this hand.first of all i was wrong it was 4 handed i thought it was 3.it is the 4 handed game.i dont know if you guys understood me when i said this.it was 4 handed not a 4 way pot.i was at a 6-max table and only 4 people were sitting and playing(me and 3 opponents).here is the HH

now i want to ask.how many of you fold this.if so what can you put him on.the only thing i am scared of is 22,33,66.in my opinion if i have an overpair and someone flops a set then i am going to go broke if the board isnt to scary.nnow if the board is 678,789,even 456 then i would be more hesitant but the board seemed to be pretty good for me.since he had to have 45 to have the straight.hard to put someone on 45.thats whyu the only hands im scared of are 22,33,66.then to top off my decision it is only a 4 handed game.if someone flops a set then im going broke unless scary board as i just stated.
give me feedback of what i did wrong and what you would have done.anything will help.thanks guys again. | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
