Not a real seceret - the only reason that I can even try these higher buyin games is that I won a big FPP freeroll a month or so back and converted the tourney $$$ that gave me to real cash by playing a ton of lower limit SNG. That let me play a few of the bigger horse events on stars and let me realize that I am pretty good at the mixed games. All it takes is some study - and finding out what your game really is.
Just take it slow - I have been playing "serious" cards for only ~ 3-4 years now and started on a very limited roll.
When I'm optomistic about something, it's just a disappointment when it doesn't go my way.
I hit a good run, and something always happens to just kill my spirits. Like tonight's CT HU did. Then I catch some bad beats or make stupid moves and it just spirals down from there.
It just sucks, because I thought I played a perfect match against abby, and a great first half against jojo, and all of that work was for absolutely nothing.
Sorry for the threadjack, just kind of down on myself tonight.
I have a lot more fun watching you guys on here win than I probably ever will playing myself. Keep on winning so I have something to do late at night/early in the morning!

It is a great book and might help you out with the frustrations of poker.
