Re: How much have you won online.

Deposited $50 of my own money and played for about three years before the law changed. Small stakes - mostly $50 NL, always for fun. Really thought I'd lose it all but I started out ultra-tight and played smart. Cashed out $4200+ off that initial $50 deposit over 3 years. During that time I also collected many, many hundreds of $$ from affiliate bonuses. In 2005 I won a PSO freeroll for an 8-day cruise to the caribbean for me and my wife, all expenses paid.

Online poker has been very good to me, a good hobby. I stopped playing when the law changed - just didn't want to deal with the hassle. That said, I played in a PSO freeroll last week at Absolute and took 3rd for $120. First time I'd played online in months.

When the law changes I'll be back. For now, I'll play the freerolls when I have the time. Wife and kids keep me plenty busy as it is...

Re: How much have you won online.

I've done fairly well over the last 3 years. Took me about a year before I actually ever took any money out. I would always take my winnings to the bigger limits and lose it there. Since then I have consistently profited between 3 and 5 K per year just sticking to lower limits and taking withdrawls on a montly basis. Not huge amounts of money by comparison to the bigger online players, but enough to have a fun money account for vacations, poker gear etc!

Re: How much have you won online.

I'd love to know. I stopped keeping track when I realized I lost more than I thought I did. Recently though I've been on my way back up, I just have trouble keeping money in the accounts. Something always comes up that I want to use the money for, and I always have friends tugging on my shirt wanting money. They "don't like paying an extra $3.95 for a processing fee on the Visa cards" so they want me to do it for free!

Re: How much have you won online.

I'm new to online poker. Never played actually. What are the old rules as compared to the new rules being spoke of.

I assume they're speaking of online poker being illegal in the US.

Re: How much have you won online.

Took me about $400 at Pokerroom to win back a little over $3000. Mostly at the $20 MTT's. Used that to pay for a down payment on my current lease car. Thank you poker. I play as little online as possible lately. I'm finding it a little boring.

When did it become illegal? And I guess the next question would be how do these people here collect money from a poker site if it is?

Just a question, not being naive.

Dude, did you just wake from a 9 month slumber?

google UIGEA - Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act.

Many people in the US choose to ignor the law. There are methods for getting funds to/from online poker rooms which are seemingly in defiance of the law.

Beyond that, AKAIK it's never been legal - ever.

Re: How much have you won online.

Online poker isn't illegal in the US, except in WA. The UIGEA only made it illegal for banks to do business with online gambling entities.
