Hopefully those two knuckle-heads will both be there when you can pick a better spot. |

Chips: 5,912 | | | Re: Pocket 8's this is a spot where you could easily call against 1 player, but your equity isn't that great against two. I would insta-call with AK, but I'm probably folding this because if they have 4 live over cards I don't have much of an edge. |

Having seen the outcome, it's too bad they didn't let you see the flop for $3. That would've been a nice triple-up! |

Chips: 3,968 | | | Re: Pocket 8's Rest assured, fold was the right play. With that deep of stacks, you had to expect one of them to have AA, KK. QQ or AK. You're behind to any of them except the AK.
And even if you know 100% that these two knuckleheads hold nothing more than a big drawing hand, you don't want to put that much in the middle with a middle pair and no option of playing the cards later on (you're just a spectator at that point).
Good fold, horrible result.

Chips: 2,331 | | | Re: Pocket 8's Here is why this is so dangerous. Even if you KNOW they do not have an over-pair or a powerhouse like AK....you can STILL be in trouble. Even though you have the best cards (by a fraction), the odds are against you winning anything here. Look at this scenario:
You have only a 36% chance to win against an opponent holding J 10os and another holding a very weak ace. 88 plays fine in a tournament when acting first, and pushing all-in. You would be getting better odds playing Keno with that 50 bucks. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
