Chips: 20,911 | | | Are you a better tounrney/SnG or cash game player?? I have been playing online a lot lately and have come to realize that I am a MUCH better tournament & SnG player than I am a cash game player. I have been doing really well in SnG's and larger tourney's that I play in only to donk off some of the $ in micro cash games. All of this is on FTP.
So that lead me to the question above -- what are you better at Tourney's/ SnG's, cash games, or both?
Feel free to comment - especially about why I suck at cash games so much

I think the last time was in Vegas in November of last year. So, I guess, since I get more practice with ring games, I'm better at them than tourneys. But I don't know that I'm all that great with either. I'm trying hard to improve my game though. |

I put S&G. Haven't cashed in a multi-table, but only played in 4.
Lately I've been positive at cash though.

Limit poker

.
.
.
One Table SNG's
.
.
.
.
.
MTT SNG's
NL Cash
I've put NL cash pretty low because my experience is pretty limited, so I don't know how good/bad I really am. I suspect I would do okay, actually, but haven't really tested it yet. My ROI for MTT's is in the positive, but single digits, which is pretty small. The sample size for those if pretty small though too. I'm trying to get better. I think I've made some recent breakthrough's and am hoping to improve in the next couple of months.
I'm surprised that you find tourney's easier than cash games. I would have thought that a solid cash game strategy applies well to tourney's, with a few added caveats. I'm wondering if it could be that late in MT tourney's you end up with some high-variance plays that put you out or in a good place for first, and when you win, that gives you a good ROI. These high variance pushes with 'tweeners in a cash game could really play havoc with your bankroll. I'm just guessing though = probably don't know what I'm talking about. |
