Re: Open up or stay the course?

Has anyone read this book and what's your opinion on it if you have?

Small Stakes Hold'em Ed Miller/ David Skalansky/ Mike Malmuth

What about Killer Poker No Limit by John Vorhaus/ Mark Seif.

Re: Open up or stay the course?

Small Stakes is one of the bible for Fix Limit holdem but has nothing in it for NL. As for Killer Poker, NL, I have read two of his Killer Poker series book. One was fairly good and the other for online poker was not so good. His book is more on general play rather in details.

Re: Open up or stay the course?

This is getting rather mundane but again thanks dad604.

Calling the turn doesn't tell you if he has a weak king. Besides, he's giving you 9-1. He's not going to do that with TP very often. It looks like a b*tch bet. Raise it, fold to a push. As played, if he bet strong on the river, you'd be hard pressed to call.

Hand three: Royal again limps in with the best hand. If I raise (now that I know what he has) he pushes all in. Now I know I'm only out $3 or $4 if I fold but would you call his all in with A/Q unsuited? He limped in a few times with the best hand and I won some pots off him. Later on he just pushed all in with any ace rag and lucked out twice. You are correct that I should have raised but I had a feeling.
If he's limping the best hand consistently, he's probably only calling a raise. The preflop decision is not key. You've got to raise the river. If the K hit him (as it did), he'll call. Look at how many people wanted to call in vrecksler's hand v. jojo .

poboy again thanks for the advice and insight.
