Comment on this .25/.50 NLHE Hand

It's a 6-max table. I've been playing here for only 12 hands, so there's not a lot to say about the opponent. The standard raise preflop seemed to be $2, that's about the only info I have Should I have just pushed the flop reraise instead of min raising? The turn push that I did seemed like my only move right there, what do you think?

Saw Flop | Saw Turn | Saw River | Saw Showdown | Won

PokerStars Game #8790126404: Hold'em No Limit ($0.25/$0.50) - 2007/03/07 - 20:14:42 (ET)
Table 'Subra V' 6-max Seat #1 is the button

Button - $34.90
HERO - $27.50
BB - $33
UTG - $48
UTG+1 - $17.75

PREFLOP ($0.25/$0.50)
HERO is SB with A Q
UTG raises $1.50 to $2, 2 folds, HERO calls $1.75, 1 fold.

FLOP $4.50 (2 players)
6 Q 7
HERO bets $2.50, UTG raises $5.50 to $8, HERO raises $6 to $14, UTG calls $6.

TURN $35.00 (2 players)
6 Q 7 6
HERO bets $11.50, UTG calls $11.50.

RIVER $58.00 (2 players)
6 Q 7 6 J

Final Pot: $55.50

Comments appreciated.

Thanks,
Jason

The flop re-raise doesn't make a whole lot of sense. You're putting $14 in, which is essentially committing you to the pot. I would just put it all in.

That said, you're a shortish stack, so going all in on the flop or turn is clearly the right play. With a deeper stack, you might be able to get away from it.

Also, what did you sit with? And check raise the flop.

Re: Comment on this .25/.50 NLHE Hand

I sat with $30, or 60 BB's.

Here's another hand. Am I not re-raising enough with my bigger hands?

Saw Flop | Saw Turn | Saw River | Saw Showdown | Won

PokerStars Game #8819336504: Hold'em No Limit ($0.25/$0.50) - 2007/03/09 - 17:07:02 (ET)
Table 'Jovita II' 6-max Seat #4 is the button

UTG - $30.50
UTG+1 - $59.20
MP1 - $53.65
Button - $58.25
SB - $50
HERO - $30.35

PREFLOP ($0.25/$0.50)
HERO is BB with 8 8
UTG raises $1.50 to $2, UTG+1 calls $2, 3 folds, HERO calls $1.50.

FLOP $6.25 (3 players)
3 9 8
HERO checks, UTG bets $3.50, 1 fold, HERO raises $5 to $8.50, UTG raises $20 to $28.50, HERO calls $19.85.

TURN $66.60 (2 players)
3 9 8 8

RIVER $66.60 (2 players)
3 9 8 8 K

SHOW DOWN
HERO shows 8 8
UTG mucked A A (ok, so I added that one in there for bragging. w00t!)
HERO collected $59.95 from pot

Final Pot: $62.95

Jason

Re: Comment on this .25/.50 NLHE Hand

This hand looks okay, although a $5 raise like that on the flop is almost a min-raise, and has the same drawbacks (straight and flush draws can chase cheaply).

I have another one. I think I'm learning how to make my re-raises with good hands be more efficient. Opinions on this hand?

HERO is SB with K K
2 folds, MP1 calls $0.50, 1 fold, HERO raises $1.50 to $2, BB calls $1.50, MP1 calls $1.50.

FLOP $6.00 (3 players)
K A T
HERO bets $3, BB raises $3 to $6, 1 fold, HERO raises $15 to $21, BB raises $15 to $36, HERO calls $13.85.

Buddy list that guy. I can't believe he got all in w/TPBK.

I expected to see QJ in his hand after he four-bet you on the flop. I wouldn't have folded, just expected to see the straight. I would think I had 10 outs twice due to the action.

Better re-raise amount, but you should count your call of his min raise in the pot, then raise the pot, so you should've raised $18, not $15.
