Re: Your HAMMER hand of the night!

you raised with 7-2 then called an all in? Sounds like the J3 against KK the other night.

Re: Your HAMMER hand of the night!

I was under the impression that 72o was The Hammer and 72s was The Hammer Deluxe!

Meh, I did get very lucky there. I didn't have to call, and I should've folded, but I would've been well within the red zone (Harrington) if I had folded.

Sorry...I thought I wouldn't get bashed for this.

edit: see Wedge's post below. "I believe it is proper to gloat about playing the hammer aggressively."

Jason

The hammer is 27 unsuited. It is generally accepted practice, although by no means required, that you play this hand aggressively, and then gloat when you win a showdown (or more likely force a laydown) by showing the hand and then giggling with glee. Note: 27 suited is not the hammer! It’s the hammer deluxe and is a relative powerhouse.
The hammer deluxe is a "relative powerhouse" and not the same as playing the hammer. I believe it is proper to gloat about playing the hammer agressively.

Wedge,
Playing aggressive is one thing.
Playing stupid is another.

Re: Your HAMMER hand of the night!

Sheesh, tough crowd. The guy shares with us a story about getting fortunate while holding the hammer (or a version of it), and gets slammed. Well, Jetra2, I say to you well done. (And feel free to call any of my all-ins with 7,2 the next time we meet up on line)
