Is there some sort of tax on these?

Sales tax here is 7.5%, and if they're taxing gift cards/credit cards, that's a lot of money to just dump for convenience.

Re: I LOVE gift2go.net cards!!

the $6 over the hundred that OP mentioned is the only cost, and that is an activation cost.

As for withdrawal, Stars, FT, UB, and Absolute all mail checks (expedited mail for large withdrawals and small fee if you want to expedite small withdrawals). I think for a casual player not moving thousands around this is by far the best method of deposit. It is totally secure, you don't have to link up a credit card, bank account, or give any personal information. It also appears instantly in your account, so no wait like there is with epassporte.

thanks for giving the gift2go another shout out.

Re: I LOVE gift2go.net cards!!

Seems like there shouldn't be a tax, because you're not purchasing "goods", but to the point, its not done for *convenience* in the US... its done as a matter of necessity, as the government feels we are incapable of conducting our own affairs.

Re: I LOVE gift2go.net cards!!

Maybe it's just me, but I don't want to pay $106 for $100. I just assumed it was tax, but activation fee makes more sense. I understand the charge for it, but I'd rather not pay extra money for what is essentially just money.

Re: I LOVE gift2go.net cards!!

You can always order them online where the service fees are a bit cheaper plus they have cards for over $200. Order in bulk and maybe cheaper.

Personally, I wish I'd know about these pre-neteller; much more anonymous.

Check with your bank too, many of them sell this same kind of thing and may not charge you if you're an account holder.

With all the negative things going on in online poker right now for US players, why is this so great? For the recreational players only this looks like a decent deposit method.

Not all of them are being accepted though. I won't be surprised if at some point in the near future G2G stops being accepted as they appear to be tied to a US bank.

I imagine you can reload the card later without paying additional fees... so its essentially a one-time fee. Someone who knows correct me if I am wrong.

Also, it could be used for vacations, etc. instead of taking cash... its not limited in its uses...

But would this violate the restriction on US banks sending money to gambling sites?

This is not a question for you, JM, but a question in general...

Edit: NM...sees hach's post above...
