If there's nothing in the store you want, the only tangible benefit is a $20,000 freeroll that costs 100FPP each Saturday. They have about 5k players though.
Oh and you get 50% more FPP too

Ditto.
I believe there are some smaller VIP freerolls held daily but might be wrong. As a silverstar, you can also play in a qualifier to the monthly 100k freeroll (100/130 fpp) which also gets around 5500 players or so. I played in the 20k and 100k this weekend with poor results.
Re: p* vip status: how hard should i try to get my silver?
I made SilverStar for the first time this month playing at the $1/$2 limit tables exclusively. I wanted it just to participate in the VIP freerolls and get the 50% bonus to FPP earning. But, if you want to keep it you have to earn the same amount of points every month else it expires at the end of the next month.
On the $1/$2 tables I was earning 1 FPP point for every 1.8 hands. Just be sure to sit at tables where VPIP% > 27% and the average pot size is $10 or more. That will speed things up a bit.
Gold Star status is probably doable if you play at the 2/4 or 3/6 limit or higher. Not going for that just yet.
