up a level?

ok with my last deposit in under the wire of the recent cutoffs, i have been holding my own at the 25c/50c and 50c/1 limit tables on FT, but i find the play too unpredictible, and yes i know in the long run these are the players i will make my money on..but i am still running into too many beats..now granted some may be due to misread play on my part, but still a lot of my raises being called on with nuthin...

so i decded to move up to 1/2 limit..now, maybe i'm getting the cards, maybe i have tightened up and am more cautious, but i have come out on the plus side these last two days...is this because the play is better at these levels? just enough donks to make skilled (or in my case advanced beginner/intermediate level) play profitable, without all the crazyiness of the lower no-fold'em tables....?

just a whisky induced rant/question...(macallan 12 tonite)

feel free to ignore at your discetion...

Re: up a level?

small sample size

I moved up to 1/2 6max NL and made $914 in my first two days and thought "wow why didn't I do this sooner?"

I have proceeded to lose back $850 of it in the last couple of sessions

I know the answer sucks, but it really is too early to tell. As littlebu said, variance.

1/2 limit is generally a lot tighter than .5/1 and sometimes has a lot of rockish players depending on the site.

I find players are better as you go up each level.
