Neteller made it clear that they held me responsible for all transactions, so I assume they will be asking for me to reimburse them for the portion of the EFT that was transfered out (to the same offshore sportsbetting site as Jamby BTW). I didn't use Neteller all that often, I only play at P*s, so I don't bounce money around to different poker sites ... I don't have a gmail address or have ever done anything related to PSO, but all this is pretty scary so I decided to close it.
I've only used Neteller to fund my P*s account, so if I'd need to reload there (which I hope I don't have to do that), what's the preferred method now to get money into online poker sites? |

For the Canadians, can they use a CC direct?

Post a message here saying that you charge Neteller with being able to protect your money that is in your bank. And also tell them good luck trying to collect any money from you from foreign company who is trying to enforce collections on a crime.

Here is a copy of the email communication between the crack Neteller Investigation Team and myself. What a joke!

My name is Brian xxxxxxxx. Someone transfered $ xxx.xx using EFT from my bank account this morning while I was online doing something else. I immediately tried to cancel the transaction, but could not. I got security help on the phone, but not before $300 had been retransferred to Betway(?). My account is now closed and will stay that way. My account number is xxxxxxxxxxxx. I look forward to hearing from you.

You are a victim of a phishing site/email that's acting/posing as Neteller or a merchant that you use. It would have falsely offer you a bonus of some sort, or asking you to confirm your account details due to security reasons. At Neteller we offer the highest level of security for our customers, however, you are required as well to keep your account details safe and confidential as per our terms of use. Unfortunately we can not stop you from providing your account details to any third parties and can not claim responsibility for it.
However, with your consent we can contact the merchant on your behalf and see if there are any funds available for return.
Sincerely,
Neteller Investigations Team
Dear Team,
I'm sorry but you are mistaken. I have not provided my Neteller acount details in response to any emails that I have received. The only merchant I have used is Poker Stars - all is fine with that account. As it turns out, someone got access via the internet to my email and simply asked you guys to send them my password. You did and they got it. That seems like a super-secure way to guard my account details.
You of course have my permission to contact the merchant whom the funds were transfered to.
This same thing happened to someone I know in Chicago a few days before me. As it turns out the same merchant was the recipient of the transfered funds - Betway. I would think that instead of accusing your customers of being at fault, you would be investigating the accounts at the merchant that received the funds. Any real business should be cooperative in this regard - especially since it seems to be happening on a recurring basis. I do not believe that I am alone in my thinking that you, Neteller, should be responsible for protecting my account from access such as this.
Please keep me updated and keep up the good work.
Brian
Looks like they just hit "send" on a form letter to me. They still haven't said anything about my bank account being nonexistant now. Can't wait to read that one. |

Continue to stick to these people. I still concenrs me that Neteller refuses to take any of the responsibility for any of this. The continue to state that its up to you the account holder to keep track of your info. No kidding... I hope that Neteller feels this right where it hurts in the pockets... Have you contacted G-Mail to see if they have any security issues? It seems that this is where the leak is coming from... | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
