Took about ten minutes for my account to show up as closed online.

But, the thief tried to withdraw the remainer of the EFT within seconds of the guy telling me it was closed and the withdrawl was declined.

Mine was closed almost instantly after I called today.

I tried closing my account about 8:00pm, but chat was unavailble. I called the number and call volumes were high, was on hold for over 10 mins. I figured I'd wait until my free minutes started on my cell phone plan before trying again. I hope there are enough cancelations for them to take this serious.

UPDATE

My bank has been awesome!

I transfered all the funds out of that account within a minute of getting the email that an EFT was approved to my Neteller account. The bank closed the account for me as soon as they opened. They were more than happy to do so and stated they would not honor any fund requests from Neteller. So, I actually am not out a dime as of right now.

Neteller made it clear that they held me responsible for all transactions, so I assume they will be asking for me to reimburse them for the portion of the EFT that was transfered out (to the same offshore sportsbetting site as Jamby BTW). I would rather have them trying to get me to pay them that money than me trying to get them to pay it back to me. We will have to see how they handle it.

I set up an account on neteller months ago. They said that they would transfer two small sums to my bank account to verify it, but I never noticed those on my bank statements and did not know what to do to verify the account. This means that they don't have access to my bank account correct? I suppose I could have typed in the information incorrectly but decided that I wasn't ready to play for money so I just didn't follow up to see what had happened.

I had to call NT after my account was still accessible 15 minutes later... 10 minutes on hold and "Andrea" (who has an very unusual access... must be a common name at NT) closed my account over the phone.

I can't login anymore, so now its really closed.
