Karriann: That is correct the only way funds can leave your account is if there is a check request done and that would be sent to the address on the account.
You took your bank account off of Neteller AND asked to temporarily suspend any EFTs? ... If you remove your bank account from NT, EFTs aren't still possible, are they?
Does anyone know, IF you remove your bank account from NT now, is there an option to bring it back later? Or is it just that simple; you can just relink it later if you choose to? I also haven't used Neteller in a while, but I like the option of having it there should I need it ... is it better/safer to just close my NT account alltogether?
I've just delinked my main bank account and have setup a separate bank account only for online stuff. I should have done this long ago but now seems like a good time. I've also reset all my passwords for P* and Neteller and they are different. Hopefully, this should be sufficient or at least minimize any future problems.
I dropped an email to investigations yesterday. They haven't responded yet. I asked what they were doing to ensure that my account couldn't be compromised through them. we shall see what they have to say.....
Just closed my NETeller account. The CS rep didn't sound surprised when I mentioned the current security problem. She did suggest that I establish a new account, which should be safe. (Yeah, right!). Of course I declined.
I'll write to them this evening to let them know exactly why I closed my account.
wow, i bet this should really get their attention. if i had a bunch of people closing accounts in the last week i would make damn sure i found out what the hell is going on. i mean if they lose confidence in their security who the hell is going to do business with them? especially if it deals with people having money stolen. lets get the word out and maybe they will listen and try to rectify the problem.
