Chips: 646 | | | Auto Muck after a Bad Beat? I have the auto-muck option disabled when playing online poker so it gives me the option to show my cards or muck them if I win or lose the hand. My real question is however do you show your cards if you you were beat at the showdown but suffered a bad beat?
For example, your pocket Aces get cracked by K-3 when the flop comes raindow K-8-4 and your opponent rivers two pair or trip Kings and your presented with "Muck the losing cards?" Do you show to tell your opponents you weren't messing round or muck it and get on with the next hand?

Edit: but I probably type a lot of whining in the chat. I should move on, too!

Do you want the others to considered you a tight player you might show a hand like that.
Myself has stop showing since I believe in the "as little as possible information" theory. But I can't say that the few how shows are wrong. |

I would guess I show less than 1% of the time.

What is your intent in showing them your Aces (in this scenario)? Is it to show them that you weren't bluffing? I think its a crapshoot whether they are paying attention or trying to figure how they will interpret things. My thinking is that you want to give your opponents no information or misinformation. If they pay attention, they might respect your hole cards more in a later hand, right? They might help you to bluff, but it might also keep them from giving you more money when they have a marginal hand. Thats just poker, its difficult to know what other people are gonna do.
Bottom line, I don't think it matters that much. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
