Chase says there's no way to stop it prior to it posting and that I'll have to contest it once it posts. Quote: |

The debits to my P* and checking accounts were both made early morning before 1:00 am and both successful transfers to betway and paradisebet ltd were after 9:00 am so several hours passed. |

Very disturbing! I've been using neteller since their inception pretty much and have never heard of this kind of thing happening with them. Their security procedures always struck me as being pretty solid. And the customer service when I've had problems (e.g. deposited at a casino but didn't get credit there but was debited at NT) was always very responsive and quick.
They track everything so they should be able to tell what happened here. Please keep us posted!

Chips: 1,186 | | | Re: My Neteller account compromised - already lost over $1100 Thought it might be good to update here when I get responses from the various places that I'm contacting for help in resolving this.
So far, I've contacted my bank (Chase) by phone. Also contacted PokerStars, Betway and Paradisebet LTD via email.
I've contacted Neteller by phone to the general support area and by email to the investigations unit.
So far, only P* has responded to say that the matter has been forwarded "to the department in charge of that kind of issues. You will be contacted as soon as possible." -jamby |

I would change all passwords that you have for sites like Paypal, poker sites, online banking Neteller etc. just in case. I change my passwords a couple times a year just to make it harder on these people anyway.
Next is to go and get some good spyware removal software and check your hard drive. Finally you'll want to make sure that your firewall is up and running and keeping nasty stuff like this from getting on your computer.
I would guess that you will be able to get back your funds through Neteller or your bank since they all have protections against this kind of stuff. I you haven't already make sure that P*'s has your account locked up.
Best of luck. I'm sure with persistence you can get all of this stuff to work out. I had an online store over charge my debit card by $2000 once and had to fight with them for 3 days but I eventually got it all back. |

Check out these two sites where my money wound up: https://www.betway.com/sportsbook http://online.casinocity.com/sportsbooks/paradisebet/
From what I can tell, both are restricted from U.S. players.
Wonder how/if that will play into this.

Chips: 29 | | | Re: My Neteller account compromised - already lost over $1100 Keep calling the bank. Get the highest ranking person you can on the phone. I am sure there is a mechanism to stop the transfer if you have not authorized it (which you haven't). I would keep calling the bank until someone was willing to help me. Call different branches, etc. |

I've also not even logged on the Neteller site since last September.
I honestly don't think the account was compromised from my end.
Changing passwords is a fine idea though and am doing that now. Quote: |

I honestly don't think the account was compromised from my end. | then you are probably way better protected than I am
....mind coming over and taking a lot at my pc to make sure I'm cool?
when you think about all of the protections people take it is kind of scary to see that this stuff still happens. Keep us updated and hopefully you'll get it all back soon. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
