I've never even had a real money account there, but covered my bases with every online poker room that I've ever had an account with at all.
So far, 100% response rate with the exception of Neteller.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, and wish you the best of luck.
Just out of curiosity, did you have your Neteller account associated with a gmail email address? I know the guy with the same problem on 2+2 did, and I'm beginning to think it isn't such a good idea. |

i wonder if this had anything to do with it? maybe they found a way to get your password or just brute force it. |

I never leave my gmail open though. The only thing I can even think that would be close to that is the recent install of the google instant messaging client for the fantasy football league. I installed that for testing and as you know you and I have been communicating that way. It's only been for about the past 7-10 days or so.
Do you think that could have been a way into my mail? For the record - I don't store passwords in emails. Quote: |

Not too sure about the google connection. It appears to be resolved now, but certainly may have impacted my situation. Nothing else makes sense so I guess it's as good a possibility as any other.
Thanks again for all your collective assistance. And to all a goodnight.

If others can benefit from my unfortunate situation and perhaps be spared from ever having to go through this themselves, then something good has come of this.

Here's the response I got today from Neteller. The NETELLER Investigations department has been informed of unauthorized transactions in your personal account. A file was opened regarding this matter and it was concluded that the transactions and logins to your NETELLER account most likely were a result of a virus on your personal PC and/ or a breach of security on your personal email account.
I've sent the inquiries to the merchant sites that received the funds from your NETELLER account. However, I am still waiting for their response. I will inform you once I hear from them. Ultimately, NETELLER clients are responsible for the security on any system used to login as well as the confidentiality of their account details. This condition can also be found outlined in our Terms of Use on the main NETELLER website (www.NETELLER.com). NETELLER will be holding you liable for all transactions within the account. You are however free to continue to investigate the disputed transactions so that you may seek recovery from any wrongdoer by notifying relevant law enforcement agencies. NETeller will co-operate in such an investigation. Inquiries from law enforcement agencies should be sent to our Investigations Department at: NETeller Investigations Fax: 1-888-678-2128, Attn: Investigations E-Mail: Investigations@NETeller.com | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
