Sb has only been at the table for 7 hands what's your play and why. I'll post my next step after a few replies.

Read: No real read hasn't been at the table long. Nothing in the previous hands stands out.

Re: How to play

i ignore bets like that flop bet. it's a really fishy play, no matter what the guy's got.

here's what i think is going on in this player's head.
"the bb is just trying to pick up the dead money. i'll call and see what happens."

flop comes

"i don't have anything...let's see what he has. duh...i'll bet 200!"

even if this guy does have a queen, i'm not sure you can get away for free here. i bet 2/3 the pot. 1500 or so.

Re: How to play

Looks like a stop-bet - trying to set the price hoping you won't come over the top.

This is exactly what went through my head. So the action goes as follows.

littlebu raises to 2,200
FrizzLiz calls 2,000
*** TURN *** [Qc Ac Qh] [6c]
FrizzLiz checks
littlebu ?????

Re: How to play

That's weird. Now I give some credit for them having a queen or even AQ. You're quite nearly committed now and certainly will be with any decent bet.

I'm stumped.

Re: How to play

Tough one. I'd check behind. Either they've got nothing, a weaker Ace (what I'm thinking), or a queen. There's not much risk giving a free card, and you may well need it, hopefully catching the nut flush.

One problem I see with a check behind is that any non club river I see him leading or pushing and if that happens am I still calling? FWIW I put him on a Ax type of hand also.

Re: How to play

checking behind is find, not in spite of what you think, little, but b/c of what you think.

if he has AQ, your bet here screws you when you get c/r'ed. if you check it and he continues to play it superduper tricky like:
-he'll make a small bet that you can safely call or
-he'll try to c/r again. but you check behind again
-he'll push, and then you can make a tough decision (feels like a fold).

the way it's been played, i think the chance of him having a Q is dangerous enough that i'll let him keep checking to me if he likes.

Re: How to play

I'm going to have to agree with the check behind and I'm not too crazy about catching the flush either. I sure wouldn't bet/raise if he checked/blocked to me on a club river.

Aggression is king but I think here we have a classic trap hand. We have a good chance of improving to what has a possibility of becoming the second best hand.

It feels really weak to me though... what if the villian has completely hacked a holding like TT or Ax? I guess it comes down to how often villian is holding a better hand than we are. Although my monkey math tells me it's not very often and we should go for value, I'm scared here.

yeah, if he shows down some junk hand, we feel slightly sad for not getting value, but we do get to dream about exploiting him in the coming hours.
