Still a bad call though |

What made you call a pot sized post flop bet on just a flush draw and itty bitty hole cards? This call leaves you with a M of 6.4.
15,670 - 1,200 - 2,400 = 12,070. |

2) he was the guy that would never bet if he had a hand, hoping that i'd bluff at it. i figured i could bust him if i hit. he also wouldn't call a push without the goods, so i figured i could grind my way back up if i took a hit here |

If my cards were higher and the Q were lower, I could justify making the call, but seriously.... |

I can't believe you use things like "reads" on your opponent during a poker game...shame on you.
What do your numbers look like over your last 20 or so tournaments...you're on a roll!!! |

I just don't like banking on draws heads up. Do you feel like he could outplay you heads up? If not, I don't see the need to "lose money" here. Your draw did hit, but it was more likely not to hit and in poker (like no other game) the end result does not always justify the decision. |

This is an ok play here- jojo had position and a read on the guy. The bet smelled weak - and it was. His turn bet was the product of him getting 2 "live" draws, othewise jojo could have taken it down right there.
"M" has little meaning when headsup - you are better off with putting a good read on the playing style and exploiting that. chris Fergeson had a great cardplayer article on odds and HU play that is a better overall strategy (kind of lime the "M" for HU play). You would be surprised at what truly is "good" statistical strategy when hu (like callin allin with K4os kind of stuff).
The only thing that I might have done differently in the hand would be to raise on that flop. If I was sure of the read (a real hand would have checked to try and trap), then I win the chips uncontested the majority of he time, and then still have outs if I get the call. I would rather not give him the opportounity to backdoor into something. But that is more of a style thing. |
