You will need to reduce your starting hand requirements, simply because there are fewer players. But be prepared for large swings in your chips. Here's links to a few articles from Card Player. For more, type "shorthanded" in the search field on www.cardplayer.com.

Re: 6 max limit .5/1-questions

Some discussion in here:
http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/poker-...it-holdem.html - starting on the second page

Abdul article:
http://www.liveactionpoker.com/artic...orthanded.html

The short answer is loosen up a little preflop, play more aggressively post flop, and defend your BB a lot to steal raises. If you are first in, raise any hand you want to play.

Re: 6 max limit .5/1-questions

Just loosen up to the point where you would call UTG with hands as in mid position in 10 player game and be more agressive with raising.

Re: 6 max limit .5/1-questions

All this advice is good, albeit too tidy. Be prepared to take a hit while growing accustomed to the pace of the 6max game. It takes some time to gain a feel for the relative strength of your holdings. BR requirements go way up too. 500 BB roll to be safe. Good Luck!
