The short answer is loosen up a little preflop, play more aggressively post flop, and defend your BB a lot to steal raises. If you are first in, raise any hand you want to play.

All this advice is good, albeit too tidy. Be prepared to take a hit while growing accustomed to the pace of the 6max game. It takes some time to gain a feel for the relative strength of your holdings. BR requirements go way up too. 500 BB roll to be safe. Good Luck!
