Chips: 11,926 | | | Is FTP giving away free money? Because it sure feels that way!
I just signed up, because I wanted to try a new site, and I'm finding it to be crazy loose. I haven't had a losing session since I started, and I'm wondering if it's because FTP is one of the only sites left that caters to US players. In just over 24 hours I've doubled my money at the .25/.50 NL tables. Tournaments, not so strong yet, lots of pretty loose calls that seem to suck out against me. The bonus is pretty nice to clear as well, I highly recco. getting in on it! Anybody else having a good run there?

You definitely have to watch the suck outs. Betting big to get players to make a mistake doesn't work that much on FT and the miracle card seems to always come for them. Lost 4 in a row to that BS. I adjusted my play and finally took one down. Now I have to get my ROI into the black. |

~80-90% favorite has been disasterous for me so far at FTP. It's uncanny how you can sit there and predict the next card and it will be the one that beats me. My winning percentage with pocket Kings is ~32% in about 27 hands and most of those winning hands come from everyone folding after a preflop raise. Someone hits runner-runner or a set on the river with 3rd high pair for a win. It has been frustrating so far, I hope it turns around soon.

P.S. same thing happened to me at FTP.i ran good for a month or so.let me give you a run down of the various beats i have taken in the last 3-4 or so hours of playing.
1) KK vs. 1010 flop is 694 we get all in turn 7 river 8 to give him straight
2)KK vs. JJ flop is all under cards we get all in he hits J on turn
3)JJ vs. 77 he hits his 7 on the flop
4) AJs vs. 22 flop A24 not a whole lot you can do but lose your money
sorry to give you bad beat stories but just letting you know what is coming up for you if your running very good now.good luck to you my friend |

not to be mean but this is just silly. It is variance and they aren't giving you cards to help you win. If you had some good cards and played well you won. Inevitably if you play long enough some of your good cards will get beat, and inevitably if you play long enough this will happen frequently for an extended period of time. The sites don't control this, but when you hit the bad side of variance it is up to you as a player to minimize its impact on your roll. I know when I first started playing at FTP I played poorly and ran badly for a pretty long stretch (about 4-5,000 hands) and lost about 1/3rd of my roll. Including that stretch I now have a 2BB/100 win rate over about 15,000 hands.
The sites have too much at stake to risk their integrity with schemes like this. They make enough money without juicing the deal so don't believe the rigged hype. |

I like P* better but FTP was definitely profitable for me. I used all my winnings from there to buy a new laptop.
As TMJ2K points out, its all variance. I'm sure you've sucked out a few hands on someone here or there also.
Hell the other night, I get dealt QQ in MP. EP raises it up 4BB and I just call. We go to the flop heads up and it comes AJx. He bets, I reraise to see if he has an A, he calls so I figure he has an A so I decide to shutdown at this point. Turn comes QQ (yippee), he bets, I raise, he pushes, I call and he turns over AQ. I guess he must have been starting on his 2nd month of profitable play.
PS: QQ does win and can even suckout too. |
