Chips: 2,456 | | | 2-7 Triple Draw on P* For a while, I've been agitated that no one offered Kansas City lowball online---no place, that I could find, anyway.
Then, today, I noticed 'other games' on the P* scroll bar and voila, deuce-to-seven triple draw.
When did they add that, the same time as horse?
I decided to test the waters, bought in for $30 on a .25/.50 NL table, drew two cards and with a 9-high semi-bluffed every street after that, and took down a $20 pot. Then, I decided I wasn't in the mood and strolled off.
I will have to sit down and really start experimenting with this soon. For those of you who don't know, 2-7 or Kansas City lowball was considered for the main event, before the players ultimately chose NL hold'em. However, it is still considered one of the most coveted titles at the WSOP.
Has anyone else started experimenting and refining their lowball game, yet? |

In this game straights & flushes hurt you and Aces are high. If my hand above is not the nuts please let me know.

The best hand you can make is a '7-5' which is 7-5-4-3-2.
Next best is a '7-6-4' which is of course 7-6-4-3-2
There are 4 possible 'sevens' that you can make (the others are 7-6-5-3-2, 7-6-5-4-2) Usually if you're in a multi-way pot you want to be drawing to a seven. Eights are also pretty good but when you're drawing to a nine or worse you're pretty much screwed in most cases. |

Chips: 5,913 | | | Re: 2-7 Triple Draw on P* the great thing about triple draw is that there may be more room for successful bluffs and semi-bluffs than any other game. With rough 9s and 10s you can bluff raise on the later draws to get an opponent to possibly break a better made 9 or 8. If you succeed in getting them to break their hand you become a favorite. Position may actually be more important in TD than it is in NL HE and you can decide whether or not to break rough hands after seeing if your opponent draws.
it is really a very complex game with a lot of variance, but extremely interesting to play. DN wrote about it in SS2 and I think he does a pretty good job of giving you the info you need to beat most games. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
