PT Question

For those of us that us PT:

What is its biggest advantage in your opinion as to how it helps in playing against the competition?

My take, based on VP$IP and PFR, it allows me more information on putting the player on hand and how I should play my hand. If I have QQ and an 8/6 raises PF, I'm doing nothing more than calling in postion. While if a 37/20 raises, I'll probably reraise him in or out of position.

Any other thoughts?

yeah, i'd say vpip and pfr. aggression #'s are good too, to figure out whether/how to counter a player on the flop, as well as whether to speculate preflop.

for tourny play, blind defense #s are big for me.

I use it for post play to evaluate my leaks... Usually while I multitable I dont have enough time to analyze the stats while in play...

Re: PT Question

Understood but I was curious as to how folks use it in evaluating opponents play.

Do you use a HUD by chance?

i use GT+...but it doesn't do tournies.

evaluating opponents' play...i thought i addressed that. be more specific with your question? during a hand? later? what sort of evaluation?

Re: PT Question

I like to see how many blinds defended, total VPIP (loose tight ect...) but I only use it to consider as a tool (even donks get a set or AA)...If they are passive and alll of a sudden start betting like a maniac I put them on a big hand, ect...

Re: PT Question

I use it for the vpip, pfr and agression factor. I use poker ace for my hud which I really like as opposed to GT+

It can be a big help, IF you let it, which I didn't last night. Donked off quite a few BB's when the stats told me I was crushed. I.e. several hundred hands played, like 1.5 pfr, .5 agression factor and I'm calling turn check raises with lousy top pair of Jacks. opponent had raised EP preflop with AA.

I know it's only one hand but for a while there last night I just found myself yelling at myself for calling down when I knew I was beat.

Also at my wife for coming in and not shutting up about her day causing me to think I hit my straight draw on the river when in fact I had not come anywhere close.

I usually make the majority of my donk plays with my wife gabbing in my ear
