I don't know????

It seems that ever since that Stupid Friggin law was passed the donk level has gone through the roof at poker stars. Used to be able to play a decent 1-2 game for a while sit down with a couple hundred and play some quality cards.

Lately its almost like the all the fish from party have come over and I have never played against people who will go to the ends of the earth to defend there blind.... I gotta figure holy cow if two damn dollars is that much to you play on the .05-.10 cent tables sheesh.... Unbelievable the amount of hands to the suck outs for me tonight seemed almost unreal...this is how my night goes, this is one of those poker things a bad night...

Dealt K Q Im in the cut off I raised to 12 dollars (ten times big blind)

Button folds small blind calls big blind calls rest of table folds

Flop Q 4 6 SB Checks, BB Checks I bet 20 dollars... SB calls so does BB (ok I figure at this point they are both holding same as me or A-Q or some real donkey hand like Q-4 or even Q-6) Turn comes out 7 SB checks again??????? BB also Checks?????? ( now these had been making donk calls for about the the last twenty minutes, calling raises with 3-5 suited and so forth so now I am just not sure) bet another 20 they both call??????? River 8 check check I also check and they both turn over Q-5 off suit..... I leave but before I do these guys are chatting back an forth about they expertly took my money.... Frigging Donks, I left and just observed the table and watched the SB suck out the next three hands Luck was definately with him this day.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Ok done venting thanks all

12 x BB with Q,5. They must have been on crack.

Re: I don't know????

you are complaining because really bad players are playing crappy calls and making -EV calls preflop against you? That's kind of silly in my opinion. If you can't beat bad players in NL hold'em long term then the problem is your game and not theirs.

couple of suggestions:

1. don't try to steal the blinds in a loose NL cash game. It isn't worth it. Why are you raising 12x the BB with KQs? If the players played "good" (ie tight aggressive) like you want them to, then you are only getting action when you are behind.

2. Realize that NLHE is a 7 card game. Just because you have the best two pf doesn't mean you are going to win. Raise 3-4x the BB and play poker not blackjack. If you get called play the game after the flop when you can really get an edge on your opponents. Don't overvaluate top pair good kicker in NL. If that is your hand try to keep the pot small and get to a cheap showdown. In the face of a lot of action just let it go.

In this case you overraised pf. Then underbet the flop. On the turn you've got 2 realistic plays. If you think they are still drawing you need to just move in and hope you are still good. If you think someone caught up then check it down and try to show it down for cheap. Betting $20 into an nearly $100 pot on the turn is just silly unless you have the nuts.

The fish from party are what make low stakes NL profitable. Be thankful that most of them are moving to stars.

Unhappy Re: I don't know????

Overbetting TPTK (you didn't even have TK, is a good way to quickly loose your stack (a lesson I had to re-learn this weekend)...

Re: I don't know????

Sorry to add to the list here, but you WAY overplayed that hand, especially at 1-2. As soon as they both called your $12 raise, you should've put on the brakes. There were too many hands out there that had you beat. The turn made it so much worse for you. Think like your opposition for a second. 3 players, now two of them have four to a straight with 4 outs on either side. Donks are going to make that call all night long. In their minds, they're getting nearly 6-1 after your turn bet, which probably looks solid to them. (Hope my math is correct )

Re: I don't know????

While I personally think that 10 x BB isn't really right for any starting hand, Q,5 is not a good play, odds wise.

Re: I don't know????

Pre-flop any 2 cards can win (even if the percentages say different) Its post flop play that will make or break your bank roll (yes even AA gets cracked)

( i figured that out a while ago LOL but thanks, it was the pace of the play at the table that dictated this raise)

In this case you overraised pf. Then underbet the flop. On the turn you've got 2 realistic plays. If you think they are still drawing you need to just move in and hope you are still good. With the way they had been playing all night I had to look at it in a way that if they were going to suck out which the one guy had been doing all night I was going to make them pay....I fealt at the pace and play of the table 10X the big blind in that case was appropriate...(I had taken him for a bit earlier but his donking really started to pay and it bread itself to the other guy, which made it more difficult to play to this point I was up about 80 dollars).

36 in pot preflop I get top pair but it isn't top kicker, I would have put brakes on if one guy called but both had me wondering after my post flop bet... the way the hand went esp after the turn there was no way they would fold which is why I checked versus trying something else.

My pot won at showdown was about 80 percent and I had won 7 pots without showdown to that point so I had a tight image (at least in my eyes) I was only trying to play premium hands to the point as well...esp because these guys were calling with any two cards, andthey had been folding to one guy consistently who would raise that much pf.

I normally stick to tournaments when I play online and play cash live so this was definately a new experience. I just got so steemed by the call it just totally threw me off so I had to stop before I went nuts. I still left up just not how much I would have liked it to be.

I am just trying to expand my game a little bit Laast tourney I played in at poker stars I finished 17 out of over a 1,000, just that the cash animal seems to be entirely different online at least at the table there are more noticeable reads other than this guy will never lay down a hand hes in, or at least the vast majority of them.

Re: I don't know????

Yes I realize its a good thing I just got myself so steemed up over the nonsense that these two guys were doing it just through me off for the night, I should have moved to a different table but I just stopped for the night.

It just drove me nuts that they got to me on that hand, is all and I needed to vent a little.
