Re: Where do you play online now?

Doyle's Room is a very underrated poker room. You should check it out.

Re: Where do you play online now?

Since I'm on a Mac, my options are limited.

I've been on Pokerroom for the last three years, and have had a pretty good run. I took a break for a few weeks, cashed out all my winnings (except for 2¢) and spent some time playing live. I started again a few days ago, and already quadrupled my roll.

However, since the laws passed, the traffic on the site has been almost cut in half. It seems to have gotten a lot donkier (is that a word?) and the tournies I like to play in have dried up. I used to play in the $20 Freezeout MTT's and they'd routinely get 160+ but now I've seen as low as 32.

I was thinking of trying out Full Tilt, but want to be sure that they've got good tournament structures and a substantial number of players. Can anybody give me the lowdown?

Don't know about the tournies but there is a good selection of NLHE cash games. The traffic at FTP has definitely gone up in the last month.

Re: Where do you play online now?

tourney structures are good at FT. They typically have 10 minute levels and very reasonable blind jumps (not like party which pretty much doubled the blinds every level). They also have deep stack tourneys a couple of times a day as well as lots of guaranteed prize pools every evening (they typically fill these up so there is rarely an overlay).

Re: Where do you play online now?

Just opened up a PStars account last night and pulled in over 40bb/100 at the .50/1.00 tables. I like what I see so far. No one gave credit for overcards after preflop reraising.

Re: Where do you play online now?

Re: SS1 versus SS2

SS1 is pretty much outdated -- most of the games it discusses are either not widely spread anymore (like 5 card draw) or have different structures (one blind HE). The only parts that are really worth reading (in my opinion) are Chip Reese on 7-stud and Doyle on NLHE.

SS2 is new EXCEPT for the NLHE section by Doyle, which is the same as far as I can tell. It's probably the only book to cover 2-7 triple draw which may or may not a selling point! I found the advice in SS2 to be much more helpful than that in SS1, but not at all the best by any means. I would recommend many other books before SS2, but then, I buy and read pretty much all the books.

As to where I play -- pretty much all pokerstars all the time now. But then, I play online very little compared to most of you.
