Tournament # 34679000
(Single table $6 SnG at PokerStars)
During the 4th hand of the tournament, my girlfriend calls and wants me to come down for a "study break". I resign myself to the fact that I've wasted the entry fee, but I figure that instead of just going all-in or sitting out, I'll raise/reraise 3-5x every hand, no matter what I have, and then just keep betting the flop/turn/river. That'll spread the chips around the table instead of giving them to just one person... right?
Wrong.
I win hands 5-7 with Q5s, J2o, and A9o without a showdown...
I lose hand 8 (pot: 3155) with J7o to A5c, but have chips remaining due to my previous 3 wins.
(At this point, I raised the past 4 hands, and finally I get to show the crap I'm raising with... this should loosen the table up, right?)
(Wrong.)
I win hands 9-10 without a showdown, win hand 11 when my Q9o outdraws KTo, and win hand 12 when my 95s rivers AK.
Suddenly, I'm back up to 3565 chips, and no closer to my girlfriend.
Hand 13 shows promise -- I lose 1165 when my 66 loses to Q7o (finally! People are beginning to understand I'm trying to lose, right?)
(Wrong.)
I get all my money back in hand 14, when my A9o outkicks a KJo... and hand 15, when I know I should lose (52o) vs 44, two of us play the board and I get another 1220.
At this point, I change my strategy... I've raised every single hand since hand 5, have eliminated 3 players, and am still not getting many callers. So, I decide to let the rest of the table in on the secret:

Next hand: I lose 2415 of my 3790 when someone flips over 88 vs my 98s... (I'm on my way -- I can feel it!)
Wrong.
Next hand, no callers -- my 43o is good... and things are great when I get all-in with 98o vs 88. One stupid 9 on the flop, and I'm back over 2000 chips with another elimination to my name.
I lose 850 when my 65o gets crushed by a flush...
And then the unthinkable happens.
17 straight wins! I raise with every freaking hand: A4, AK, J4, Q3, 72, 73... I either win the pot uncontested or manage to draw out.
By the end of the streak, I've eliminated the rest of the table to get to the final 3, and have 7800 chips. It's been 20 minutes since my girlfriend called, meaning I should have been down there about 10 minutes ago, and I can't get eliminated from this damn tournament.
Thankfully, the end is here -- I lose about 4000 when my 33 gets beaten by AJ, I win the next 2, then get to haul ass out the door when my AQo is beaten by J9o.
My stats for the game:
40 hands played (of which I raised the last 36 in a row) and saw flop:
- 2 times out of 9 while in small blind (22%)
- 3 times out of 9 while in big blind (33%)
- 14 times out of 22 in other positions (63%)
- a total of 19 times out of 40 (47%)
Pots won at showdown - 9 out of 15 (60%)
Pots won without showdown - 21
Since I didn't even play the first four hands (folded them pre-flop), that means I won 30 of 36 hands in a tournament I was trying to lose!
