So I haven't played in while. Stopped cold turkey for the past 6 weeks. Now I decide to step back in the ring and made a nice score on P*.
Apparently I recharged my good luck battery and warded off too many bad beats. I managed to hover around top 5 in chips playing tight poker until one guy hit a 2 outer on the river and later chased an inside straight draw to put me in the danger zone (cue Kenny Loggins).
But I managed to catch pocket pairs at the right times and waited for screw-ups. One guy tried a bluff reraise all-in with AJ (no draw) when I had QQ. And then later I manged to take down two huge pots against the big chip leader to take a commanding lead. After those hands I had more than half the chips in play while 5-handed.
I bid my time and ended heads up against a quality opponent. But on the 2nd hand of heads-up we got all the money in with my JJ vs his AKs.
