| Re: help me understand Neteller and where they stand From what I understand, Neteller is owned by a company that is NOT affiliated with any online poker site, and it is NOT based in the US. Also, there are 1000s of other reasons why you would fund a Neteller account besides online poker.
Therefore, from what I understand, it will be perfectly legal for your American bank to fund your Neteller account. Who is to say you arent using that money to pay for an online purchase, or some other reason the All Knowing American Government(tm) has deemed acceptable. This is the important part. As long as Neteller accounts can be used for something other than poker or other online "gambling", US banks should be perfectly legal in funding them.
Once the money is in your Neteller account, you can do whatever you want with it since its not an American company, and this BS law doesn't apply to them.
As far as getting money out is concerned... there shouldnt be ANY problem with that. They way I understand it is that the new law doesn't deal with withdrawals, only deposits. If there was a way, you could actually have party poker (or any other site) directly deposit your money to your American bank account and it would be perfectly legal.
Again, this is just how I understand it. I could be wrong. |
