My tourney bad beat last night I was playing a multi-table tournament last night and had almost $3000 in chips, above the chip average, and their were about 3/4 of the players left. I had a 5,6 suited and called the $30 big blind.
On the flop:
5 5 x
Someone raised $300 (three times the pot), and I called, thinking I was slow playing. At the turn:
5 5 x 7
Same guy raised another $300, basically limping in now due to the size of the pot, and I went all in, thinking well if he has a higher kicker, I'll get beat, but oh well.
Guy calls and shows a pair of 7s for a full house.
Grr. I guess I should have raised after the flop, but that was harsh. What hurt more was that he took forever to call.
This same guy had placed these super tiny value bets the entire time, when he had nothing, or if he had the nuts. Leading me to just call if I had a hand, never raising against him. I guess my second mistake was not continuing to do this. |
