Re: bummer flop

Sparky,
Last night I was playing with friends in a tourney. At one of the the tables one guy flopped 4 nines, and the other guy flopped jacks over nines full.

Technically that sucks.

It was a freeroll, and at least I was the dog before the flop.
If he had deuces or some rags in hand, then I would be irate.
As it was, I was impressed and laughed at it.

Re: bummer flop

I made up for it by hitting two royal flushes in the last two weeks.

Re: bummer flop

Definitely an unfortunate flop, but K7 and K3 also beat you... That's nowhere near as strong as the starting hand you had.

I've alwasy said, the best hand in poker is not necessarily quad aces, but rather the hand that is just slightly better than your opponents strong hand. It gets you the most action and the most profit.

Also, the all-in raise may have been a bit agressive with *only* QQ, but no matter...there's no way you get away from that hand after the flop when the only thing that beats you is two kings down... Besides, it gives you more time to spend with that new baby...
