Chips: 6,131 | | | Sharkscope Well since Pokertracker is not much help for SNG's and MTT, I checked out Sharkscope and am considering paying for it. Anyone use it? Something better? |

it can auto-fill a tourny time window. i do that early in the tourny, and then kill time as we go on by taking notes. most importantly, you see after 10-20 hands, generally speaking, what guys are doing.
sharkscope can give you roi%, but doesn't give any useful info about the casual guys that have only played a bit. |

Something better? | I use to take the free searches when I play. I play about 20 hands and then I try to pin the Big Fishes & Sharks. It is sort of funny to see if you are right or wrong. I would not pay for it though. |

What do you mean it can auto-fill a time window? Does that mean for sng's it only tells you what they have been doing for that particular sng? |

I would not pay for it though. | That's essentially what I do. Since you only get so many free searches per day, I usually wait until the sng is down to 5 or so players, then search on the chip leaders. Sometimes if I think someone is a donk, I'll search on them too. I've found it's pretty accurate.
Then again, every now and then, I'll think someone's a fish and I do a search and they have like a 30+% roi! |

It keeps track of your ROI and has lots of good information about how you play position and (especially important for me) how you play OUT of position. Of course, combined with a HUD you can see into your opponent's style also. It's just not AS useful for tournaments as it is for cash, especially in a situation where you can't datamine.
On 'stars, I only ever have hands that I've actually played. Tells me nothing about players at a table I get moved to. Sharkscope is quite useful for these situations and I've been considering subscribing to it. If I get back around to $22/180 I probably will... less than one entry fee per month for all that info. mmmmmm, info. I'm currently playing at the $11/180 level and I just assume all opponents suck until proven otherwise right up until the bubble.
It's less useful for someone who plays on full tilt. There, just open every table in the tournament (hope you have a lot of RAM!) and you'll be datamining EVERYONE so you'll have info when you get moved to the table.
