Chips: 1,861 | | | A $4.40/180 observation I'm back at the microstakes with my case bankroll and adjusting from the $22's has been... interesting.
Two times in the past two days people have rivered baby straights on me HOLDING THREE TO THE STRAIGHT ON THE FLOP. Don't think that I'm whining, in each hand I bet the flop and slowplayed the turn purposely in order to try to win a big pot. Ya pays yer money, ya takes yer chances, ya know? I got a lotta gamble in me in +EV situations. Both of these weird baby straights kinda blindsided me, the first one busted me but I just called his bet in the second. Funny note, the second guy's name is SOUHATEME and he said, "badcall" when I called his weird little 3bet. He busted out two hands later getting AI PF w/KQs badcall indeed, I just didn't realize he was prophetic.
This set me to thinking.... these guys are floating the flop with COMPLETE air. The continuation bet is getting NO respect from these particular players. I didn't really have enough hands on either of them to try to profile either of them but WHO ARE THESE GUYS? I need to learn to identify them quickly because they can pay me well before the other good players get all of their chips.
Thoughts on profiling guys that will behave like this?

This is where the worst starting hand is guaranteed to get a runner runner for the win to take down money from better players. This way, it keeps everyone playing, and PStars can take more rake later on.
Bottom line, unless you can get folks to fold before the river, you're toast. |
