Chips: 9,135 | | | Major suckout (by me) $10+1 'stars SnG. Early on, still 9 players. I sat out the first hand or two, but the last two or three hands "Bozoclan" has gone all-in and been folded to.
Bozoclan is in MP with 1410. I am UTG with 1500.
I get and raise to 60.
Folds to Bozoclan who goes all-in for 1410.
I call, mostly because I'm already irritated at him.
He shows .
Flop:
Turn:
River:
My Queens full of Kings beats his Queens full of Fours. He's out and I go on to win the SnG, not without feeling a little guilty.
It's good to be on the good end of a suck out once in a while. Oh, and I know that this is really only a bad beat after the flop. Pre flop, we were nearly even.

Chips: 9,135 | | | Re: Major suckout (by me) As I typed this in, I realize what a stupid move this call is. With AA-JJ it's reasonable, but with AK, I'm unlikely to be much better than a coinflip against this guy and with a little patience, I should be able to do much better than that against him.
That's one of the dangers of internet poker, especially for relatively low stakes. The "sometimes you've got to say WTF" factor.

Congrats on the righteous suck-out. |

From my experience you need SnGs in which you pull a big pot early and go on to bully -balanced- with your "ultra-tight early, pushbot late" base of tournaments. This guy is asking for it, he could easily have Ax, KQ-KT,QJ or complete air. Race him and move on with life (click the register button) if you lose. Always try to WIN SnG's, never shoot for second; that's the basis of the UTEPBL theory.

I'm guessing it's not the Upper Tasmanian/Ethiopian Poker and Bowling League? |

El Paso is over 700 miles from Tyler. I may be closer to you in Boston than El Paso. I am definitely closer to Florida.
