I find it pretty hard to believe that these sites report this stuff 100% honestly. I think, at the very least, that they use a short period of time to collect the stats and then "reset" them. Case in point: I play mostly $2/4 limit, and I'll find games with like 45% seeing the flop, $40 average pots. So there will be an open seat, I'll sit down, and the first 5 hands get folded around to the BB. After that, there's 2 or 3 players seeing the flop, usually for 3 bets or more.

Uncalled bets are added to party's "avg pot", so it's inflated. Not so on 'stars.

I doubt if they mess with the stats, I don't see a benefit for them.

Don't forget, often you just sat in the seat that was the donator driving all that action, the other players might all be TAG and are now adjusting to you.

I think it likely they use a small sample, like you said. Especially with the fast turnover online, for the site, nothing else really makes much sense.

Yes, they do use tricks to make it seen higher. For example, the flop rate lag the true rate by a fair length of time. The rate will be higher at when the table first opens as it will be short handed, then lower as it fills up but the rate will be very slow to update.
