WTF was he thinking?

This has to be one of the worst PF and flop calls I've ever seen. I was trying to set a trap after the flop but I could never have guessed at how BAD his hand really was. I wonder if he would have called if I bet more.

Re: WTF was he thinking?

All I can think is that he misread the 2c for a spade... if he was making a move on you, he would have bet the turn and represented (unless he was afraid you originally paired a 7 on the flop). How else to explain his check on the turn and river?

If only he was a good player, I thought I played that perfectly on the flop to look like a continuation bet and then my check on the turn and river. I was just begging for him to steal it.

Maybe next time.

Re: WTF was he thinking?

At the microlimit stakes, any thing can happen. I have seen players with cards that can not beat the board on the river and they still call. I would have just keep on betting.

Not really complaining that I won but I was greedy and he wouldn't pay me off.

Come to find out after playing with him, his PT stats are something like: VP 80, PFR 1, TA 1. I may have played it differently if I knew more about him. I assumed he was a slightly better player, my mistake. I probably should have bet 1/2 pot on the turn in hindsight, I can't imagine he would have called anything on the river though but you never know.

I did suckout on him later though. He has TPTK and I had TP2K but I made 2 pair on the river in an all-in pot.
