Time for me to reload - where should I go

Unfortunately I have almost worn my initial purchase on pokerstars down to zero. My first foray into online gambling for real money. It has been a fun couple of months with many highs, and unfortunately, of late, more lows.

It is now time for me to reload. I really like pokerstars the pokerstars simplicity of play and speed but was wondering if someone could recommend another site. Preferably the same sort of style of play and most importantly something I can get a bonus for signing up for or my first deposit.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have never played there but Full Tilt Poker gives a 100% match up to $600. Maybe some people on here can give you some advice about that site.

Re: Time for me to reload - where should I go

i have a friend who plays on FT, and really likes it, the only other site he plays on is P*'s..

i want to put something out to all of you...is P*'s better BECAUSE there are few/no "bonus whores" on the site...do you think those playing for bonuses, play differently than those who are playing "to play(win at poker)"??

just curious, cause my experience on P*'s has been good, while Titan, and Party were bad...

i would like to try FT and Pokerroom...

Re: Time for me to reload - where should I go

i would definetely recommend full tilt poker.if that is to "cartoonish" for you like some people say.for example the avatars are very cartoon like pictures.i personally dont mind it and love the site.if you dont like the cartoon feel then i would also recommend ultimate bet. ultimate bet is more laid back as far as avatars go and the cartoon feel and that sort of stuff.

but for the most part all of the major poker sites are all the same type of thing.the only difference is the avatars and the looks of the surroundings such as the background, floor, sound of chips, color of chips in my opinion.

but def try full tilt or ultimate bet if you like pokerstars these are pretty much the same thing.

Full Tilt give you a bonus for sure. As Guma said they pay 100% match up to $600.. let me explain, now I could be wrong on this BUT I signed up and deposited money thinking I would double my deposit... wrong. As far as I can see as you play you get Full Tilt Points equal to 100% of your $600... so I played $54 before I figured this out so I have $54 worth of these points. What can you do with these points? Buy Full Tilt stuff like a ball hat that costs 2200 points!

So IMHO Full Tilt is a great place to play, the only reason I went back to P* is because you guys all play there, so the site is solid but the bonus system (as far as I can see) is lame.

Just my 2 cents

Re: Time for me to reload - where should I go

I would recommend going with UltimateBet and getting a rakeback with it. I recommend pokersourceonline's rakeback (32.5% i believe) system, it's fast and reliable. UltimateBet has the fastest tables out of any site I've played on (I've played on empire, party, p*, pacific, poker room, paradise, ultimatebet, and absolute). Also, the reload bonuses stack (somewhat) with rakeback.

Sites with a lot of bonus whores generally play a little tighter, but bonuses don't make the players better. Bad players go after the bonus too.

Full Tilt's bonus is difficult to clear due to the requirements.

I would recommend PSO like DDD424 did. PSO gives you a free gift as well as the bonus (they sometimes clear at different rates). I suggest signing up for Paradise Poker for play like Pokerstars. Take the points as your gift. Once you clear Paradise, withdraw and do Absolute Poker. Tighter play there, but once you have an Absolute account, you can turn your PSO points into Absolute gift cards, then withdraw the cash if you want.

This isn't what happened to me. You get full tilt points AND actual money.

I deposited $200, got $180 in bonus money (I didn't finish the bonus - more on this later) and a whole bunch of FT points. I got a fancy hat for BigKyle with the points (hey Kyle, if you see this, did you get that yet?). I got had a bonus code in the mail, so I got another $100 too - this was instant - no "bonus clearing" necessary. So for $200 I got $480 (could have been $500 if I put in the extra time) plus the points.

The bonus is let go in $20 increments. The full tilt points are instant, but they let the cash out in chunks. On the cashier, there is usually a button that says "bonus account" and it will have how much you are eligible for, how much has been released, and what the deadline is. You have to play quite a bit though - according to PT I think I have about 40 hours of poker, playing mostly 3/6, but also some 2/4, with a mix of full table and 6 max. You get something like 3 months to do it in. That's a lot of hours for me, but maybe not for others, I don't know.... The limits you play at will obviously affect the time it takes.

You should check this bonus account info str8edg - you could be close to clearing some actual cash.

I like the site alot. I have also played at Paradise and just a little bit at Stars. The play isn't as soft as it is at Paradise - maybe it's similiar to Stars, I don't really know - I haven't played there much. The interface is pretty good, and they haven't had the server problems Paradise seems to have lately.

Re: Time for me to reload - where should I go

I like FTP a lot, and as for the cartoonish complaint, you can always shut off the avatars and set the background theme to midnite or plain. There's tons of good tournies there with a lot of variety, and cash tables are pretty well populated as well. Players over all seem to be very good, low donk-factor.
