I thought i had downloaded a Rar file that contained Barry Greensteins book "An ace on the river" but it was mislabel and actually contained Calculatem Pro and a tutorial video.

Does anybody use this software? What are your thoughts on it?

The guy in the video didnt seem to play all that well. As soon as he had any big card he went all in, all the time.
He had an amusing Sth African acent as well.
He either was all-in pre flop or he folded.
"ok we have KQ, its says its 92% and to raise. So what are we going to do? We are going to bang it all in"

Is this just a gimmick or handy tool?

I probably will buy it. I found the file while searching p2p for photos of Barry.
I dont intend to use the software.

the software isnt free. you have to unlock it by signing up to a various website and giving the poker site a refferal code and play about 400 raked hands before you get it unlocked :-s

Software is made for ultra agressive SNGT play. I've watched about 3 of those videos with the birtts talking about how to use the software, and basically they say to fold your way untill the 4th level, then go all in with any 2 high cards or ACE-8 or better or any pair.

i used to play SNGT's all the time untill i took some harsh beats in the last few 20 dollar ones i played so i quit.

Be sure you have a good virus scanner while your downloading content from the peer to peer sites/software as 90% of .rar/.zip/.exe files have imbedded viriuses.

I used an earlier version of Calculatem when I first started playing online. It gives you the percentage chance of making the range of hands based on your holdings and the collective percentage chance your opponents have of making them. So if you have a pocket pair you're 100% to have a pair by the river, whatever to make a set and so on. I found it useful initially, but after a bit awhile you start to figure the odds in your head and I didn't want to pay to upgrade to Pro, so I haven't used the newest version.
