Raymer's Collapse in Big PStars Tourney

I don't know if anyone saw it, but I happened to start watching the 1000 buyin PStars tourney tonight. Raymer was chip leader from the time I started watching the final two tables to the time he was heads-up. In a crucial hand, Raymer went all-in after a flop of As-2s-4c with Ks-Qs and his opponent called with 3c-4h. Raymer lost the hand and went from a a 2.5 to 1 lead to a slight disadvantage soonafter. In an inexplicable play, Raymer winded up putting all $1mil + chips in with 10-8 against the other guy's pocket jacks and was gone. If anybody saw, did you also think Raymer went on complete tilt? Or was he tired and ready to go to bed?

I didn't see this, but I'm curious what 2nd and 1st place paid out? How many people were in this tourney?

Re: Raymer's Collapse in Big PStars Tourney

i was watching him through the entire tourney. he played very well up until the end. maybe he was getting tired and wanted to end it. maybe it was his favorite hand. maybe he was tilting. through the tourney it did seem to me that after each beat he took, he would make a bet on the next hand that seemed like it was just a tilt bet, but he probably did that on purpose. heads-up play had been going on for a while, and i know i was pretty tired just from watching, but still...

Re: Raymer's Collapse in Big PStars Tourney

he probably thought the other guy was running a play on him.

40% chance of resteal
90% chance of having live cards
100% chance of tilting a little from those horrible beats

=

POOOOOOSH.

He could have just been tired.

No, but you do bring up another classic Raymer meltdown.
I watched it (the PPT) and all I could do was smerk and mutter "WTF?!"

Felt kinda bad for the dude. Pretty much embarrassed himself.

Re: Raymer's Collapse in Big PStars Tourney

he finished second and won $182k. I don't think you can quite say he embarrassed himself no matter how donk a move he may have made at the end. Could have been tired, could have needed to take a piss, could have tilted, who knows.

EDIT: just realized I think you were talking embarrassing himself on the show and not in the online tourny.

Re: Raymer's Collapse in Big PStars Tourney

I saw it. My sense was that he was beat and exhausted rather than on tilt. I could be wrong, but it sure seemed that way to me.
